Fascinated by the diversity of the population of the valley of Massat in the Ariège Pyrenees, and the uniqueness of each of the inhabitants who contribute to its richness and eccentricity, photographer Sandrine Rousseau conceived a project with the aim of demystifying appearances. She visited 25 inhabitants and families in order to create — with them — a portrait of their lives.
In this series of testimonies, she also explored ways people use time and space differently in order to ‘exist’ in our present economic environment.
